Congratulations to our new 2022 Champions!

George Ortega

Champions Flight Champion.

George fought his way back from two strokes behind the leader entering the final round. When asked before the round what he needed to shoot to win he said, "the rest of the field".

Thankfully it didn't come to that. Asked about his comeback George replied, "Remember this: classics never make a comeback. They wait for that perfect moment to take the spotlight from overdone, tired trends. Take for instance my shirt." Asked what is next for him he said, "All my early morning training paid off , now I can sleep in, shave off this beard and start eating McDonald's again. I'm loving it"

Bob Greenwell

Masters Flight Champion.

Bob was 5 strokes down after Round 1 but slowly moved up the leaderboard after each round. Asked to describe how winning felt Bob said, “It’s not about winning and losing... just kidding, you know who says that? The loser.” When asked why he brought out a new putter for this round he said, "Why am I using a new putter? Because the old one didn’t float too well." Bob's golf game has steadily improved, everyone in the club knew it because he hadn't been hitting as many golfers in other fairways. Bob described his victory in poetic fashion,  “This game is alive. The air, the wind, the grass, my swing...oh God 

my swing it's a living sculpture! Always head down through contact, always down, striking the ball crisply, with character and purpose. When I felt the contact it was like a tuning fork going off,

no only did I feel it in my heart but I could feel it in my club and in my balls.”
